Yoga
A major challenge in recovering from trauma remains being able to achieve a state of total relaxation and safe surrender.
All yoga programs consist of a combination of breath practices (pranayama), stretches or postures (asanas) and meditation.
The emphasis is not on getting the poses rights but helping the participants notice which muscles are active at different times. The sequences are designed to create a rhythm between tension and relaxation.

There are different types of yoga that you can try:
Soma yoga is any number of practices that incorporate the movement healing system of somatics. The idea behind somatics is that slow, gentle exercises re-educate the nervous system and allow the release of tight, restricted muscles, thereby promoting healing. Yoga practices based on somatics blend this concept with appropriate yoga asanas

Yoga nidra, a Sanskrit term meaning “yogic sleep” is a deep relaxation technique and a form of meditation. Also called “psychic sleep,” yoga nidra is a state between sleeping and waking. The body is completely relaxed and the practitioner turns the awareness inward by listening to a set of instructions; much like a guided meditation. Yoga nidra practice results in deep relaxation and expands the individual’s self-awareness.

Yin Yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative version of the popular physical and spiritual discipline of yoga. In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues (such as the ligaments) rather than focusing on the muscles. As a result, the asanas are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement.
